Centrifugal pumps are generally prone to the following faults:

A、 The pump cannot be started or the starting load is high

The reasons and handling methods are as follows:

1. The prime mover or power supply is abnormal. Handling method: Check the condition of the power supply and prime mover.

2. The pump is stuck. Handling method: Manually rotate the coupling for inspection, and if necessary, disassemble it for inspection to eliminate faults in the dynamic and static parts.

3. The packing is pressed too tightly. Treatment method: Loosen the filler.

4. The discharge valve is not closed. Solution: Close the discharge valve and restart.

5. The balance tube is not unobstructed. Treatment method: Dredge the balance pipe.

B、 Pump does not discharge liquid

The reasons and handling methods are as follows:

1. Insufficient filling of the pump (or incomplete discharge of gas in the pump). Solution: Recharge the pump.

2. The pump is turning incorrectly. Solution: Check the direction of rotation.

3. The pump speed is too low. Solution: Check the speed and increase the speed.

4. The filter screen is blocked and the bottom valve is not functioning properly. Treatment method: Check the filter screen and eliminate debris.

5. The suction height is too high, or there is a vacuum in the suction tank. Treatment method: Reduce the suction height; Check the suction tank pressure.

C、 Interruption after pump discharge

The reasons and handling methods are as follows:

1. Air leakage in the suction pipeline. Solution: Check the connection of the suction side pipeline and the sealing of the stuffing box.

2. The suction side gas was not completely discharged during pump filling. Solution: Request to refill the pump.

3. The suction side is suddenly blocked by a foreign object. Treatment method: Stop the pump to handle foreign objects.

4. Inhale a large amount of gas. Solution: Check if there are vortices at the suction port and if the submergence depth is too shallow.

D、 Insufficient traffic

The reasons and handling methods are as follows:

1. Same as 2 and 3. Handling method: Take corresponding measures.

2. The static head of the system increases. Solution: Check the liquid height and system pressure.

3. Friction loss increases. Solution: Check for obstacles such as pipelines and check valves.

4. Excessive wear on the casing and impeller wear rings. Solution: Replace or repair the wear ring and impeller.

5. Leakage from other parts. Treatment method: Check the shaft seal and other parts.

6. The pump impeller is blocked, worn, and corroded. Processing method: cleaning, inspection, and replacement.
